1st October - Doctors 'very pleased' with Harleys progress so far, has been weighed today and is now a whopping 820g (1lb 13oz). Stoma is working correctly :) so now has a 'bag' that is bigger than him :) Still trying to get on top of an infection which may mean his longline (the tube that gives him nutrients until he can be feed by drip) has to come out as this infection grows on plastic and although he's on antibiotics the infection is growing :( The plan is to remove the longline, blast him with antibiotics for 48 hours and then re insert the longline, this will hopefully kill the infection once and for all but will mean he's gets no nutrients for 48 hours so may well lose weight, but as he has gained some weight he can afford to lose a small amount. Harley nice and stable at present.
